摘要

The aim of htis paper is to evalaute the use of inhibitors in order to prevent and control steel reinforcement corrosion as well as their influence on some properties of fresh and hardened concrete. Commercial products (amino-organic) and sodium nitrite were evaluated and no changes on fresh and hardened concrete properties were observed when they were added to the mixing water despite showing plasticizer behavior. Just the nitrite based inhibitor had an influence in the corrosion process under this conditios and it was due to the external chloride action. No considerable changes on corrosion parameters (corrosion potential and polarization resistance) were found when they were applied on the surface of chloride-contaminated concrete structures after a year of testing.
