Serial and parallel implementations of a finite differencernsimulator for the dynamic behavior of directional suckerrodrnpumping wells that takes into account fluid flow insidernthe rod-tubing annulus are presented and analyzed.rnThe performance and scalability of the implementations arerncompared. The results show that the parallel versions bringrnsignificant speed improvements over the serial versions inrnthe majority of cases, and that the efficiency of the parallelrnversions scales along with problem size.
