Over the last two hundred years industrial development has drastically changed the face of Europe. Nowadays, there is an increasing need to manintain the most significant industrial combplexes as witnesses of that historical period. In consequence, an appropriate form of conservation is requireed for this industrial hertiage made of iron and steel. However, proeseving treaces of daily use and hadnling in or der to keep the original apperarance excludes in most cases technical maintenance with pigmented coating layers.
