Non-Destructive Survey Systems on Masonry: The Case of the Walls in the Archaeological Site of Canne della Battaglia

摘要

This study wants to show the methodology and the results of in-situ analysis made in the archaeological site of Canne della Battaglia. The aim of the work was to obtain different types of information regarding the state of conservation of a part of perimeter walls of the archaeological site. The methodological approach used, shows how, integrated diagnostic systems, can help the professionals responsible for the preservation of artistic and cultural artworks. In particular, the use of non-destructive methods such as sonic and GPR analysis, can identify different information about the state of conservation of the building, in order to identify the most deteriorated areas and prevent any collapses.
