A capacitor-based multi-level inverter is presented in this paper. The proposed inverter creates 27 levels at output voltage. Capacitor charge balance is done naturally without the help of external circuits, which is one of the advantages of the proposed inverter. The proposed inverter also has an expanded topology that increases the number of levels and the voltage gain. Compared to other similar topologies, the proposed inverter has more levels, which shows the advantage of the proposed topology. Finally, the performance of the proposed topology is proved by the results obtained from the simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC software.
