This paper deals with the ZSI (Z Source Inverter) employed single stage PV (Photovoltaic) based PMBLDC (Permanent Magnet Brushless DC) Motor coupled with the fan load. The proposed system eliminates the need of DC-DC conversion stage and it results in reduced complexity with an increased efficiency. The KVA requirement of ZSI minimizes as compared with the direct single-stage voltage source converter (VSC) systems. In the proposed system, maximum boost control approach is used to switch the ZSI with reduced switch voltage stresses under desired voltage gain. It improves the performance of a PMBLDC motor drive under change in solar radiation. The MATLAB simulation results are presented to validate the proposed concept under real time emulated situations.
