This work presents a millimeter-wave transceiving systems for the investigation of plasma in shock tube. To deal with the supersonic plasma shock wave, the system utilizes a high-speed analog-to-digital (ADC) converter to improve the time resolution. In addition, a high dynamic range is also designed for the system to extend the measurement range of plasma electron density. The measured amplitude and phase of the reflection measurement demonstrates the effects of plasma in shock tube, which can be utilized to investigate the mm-wave properties of plasma.
