Traveling Decision Making of Chinese Households Based on the Probit Model

摘要

With micro-household investigation data obtained through large-sampling tests nationwide in China, the Probit model was employed in this study to verify the impact of the aging population on the travelling decision-making of Chinese households. As the study result reveals, the aging degree plays an inhibitory role in the Chinese households’ traveling intention and travelling consumption. Further research shows that this inhibitory effect is more prominent in households where the householder is young; in households where the householder is old, aging plays a positive role in promoting the household’s willingness to travel and consumption in travelling.
