摘要

The paper dwells upon the research of main advantages and challenges dealing with the introduction of computer technologies in education. The foundations of ICT implementation in educational process are given according to the UNESCO regulatory framework. The arguments in favor of distance learning are given such as a quick and constant access, interactivity, use of audio-visual aids, wider scope of students involved, cost-efficiency. However, the paper also considers some problematic aspects of implementation of these technologies in the educational process. Firstly, that is the choice of the most efficient and rational niches of ICT implementation in education. Secondly, that is high cost of initial investment. However, we can conclude, that high requirements to the quality of education make ICT implementation in education necessary and expenses justified.
