This paper analyzes the voltage level and network topology for DC distribution network. According to the typical network topology, the protection technology problems faced by the DC distribution network are analyzed. On this basis, the protection scheme of the DC distribution network is given to realize the fast fault identification. Aiming at the difficulty of fault location of DC distribution network, a network protection based on GOOSE is proposed. The system is divided into several areas. Each branch in each area adopts the networking mode to activate the GOOSE signal (with direction) and sent to the network; The active bay in each area receives the fault starting GOOSE signals of all the bays in the area through the GOOSE network, according to the branch status information to realize accurate fault location identification of the DC distribution network. Finally, the performance of the protection device was verified by experiments.
