Optimal Planning of High Renewable Generations: A Temporal Scenario Based Approach

As the large scale of renewable generations, integrating into the power transitions, the energy promotes, the high renewable networks, the planning of different types of renewable generations (RG) is vital. Because of the uncertainty and temporal correlation of RG and the time-varying load, a temporal scenario-based approach is proposed, and a chanceconstrained economic model for RG placement is established. The comprehensive advantages of reliability, environmental and so on, as well as the active curtailment management of RG, are considered. The effectiveness and feasibility of the presented models is verified by test cases. The result also shows many factors impact RG' s integration, such as the climate conditions, the parameters of the model, etc., and the incentive measures, like the appropriate setting of the unit environmental cost, would help improve renewables' penetration.
