A SECURE MULTICAST ARCHITECTURE AND PROTOCOL FOR MOSPF

Multicast Open Shortest Path First (MOSPF) is an enhancementto unicast routing protocol OSPF. It has beenwidely used in many multicast applications for years. However,its security is still a major concern in some applications.Much work has been done on data protection, butonly a few works have been done on member access controlmechanisms. In this paper, we present a new securemulticast architecture and protocol for MOSPF from theperspective of member access control. Our new model includesa variant of previous access control mechanism anda novel distributed encryption scheme. This architecture inparticular meets the access control security needs of densemulticast routing protocol in MOSPF, simplifies the accesscontrol process, and increases scalability and flexibility inrevocation and reauthorization.
