Diagnostics for accurately measuring the instabilities in a z-pinch plasma are presented. These measure the outputs of the plasma in time and space to analyze the physical processes in the instabilities. The diagnostics have been selected to measure the plasma density profiles in time with the ultraviolet, X-ray and neutron generation in time and space. Experiments will evaluate the capability of these diagnostics to measure the repeatability of the non-equilibrium plasmas generated by the z-pinch machine at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
