@@Poly(lactic acid) (PLA), as a biodegradable polymer derived from renewable sources, has great potential to replace some conventional petrochemical-based polymers in many fields because of some excellent properties such as high mechanical strength and elastic modulus [1l However, PLA also has its own inherent drawbacks: poor impact strength (~ 3 kJ/m2) and low heat deflection temperature (< 60 °C) Polycarbonate (PC), as an engineering plastic, has high glass transition temperature and impact strength so that the corresponding performance of PLA is expected to be elevated by adding PC. Recently, the PLA-PC alloy has attracted much attention as a biobased polymer material in industries, because it is very likely to replace the application of conventional petrochemical-based polymer materials such as ABS and PC/ABS.
