A robust ticket-based mutual authentication scheme for data security in cloud computing

In cloud computing environment, storage, scheduling and processing of critical resources and data are under the complete control of third party service provider and are accessible through insecure public communication channel called Internet. Mutual authentication and access control are key requirements in cloud computing. In this context, many researchers have proposed cryptographic schemes, which provides mutual authentication among third party cloud server and remote cloud user with varied efficiency. In 2011, Hao et al have suggested a time-constrained ticket-oriented common confirmation or authentication system and hold that their system is safe. In 2013, Pippal et al claimed that Hao et al system is susceptible to DoS barrage and suggested an upgraded system. In this manuscript, we will illustrate that Pippal et al system is still defenseless to all key cryptographic attacks. As a part of our contribution, we put forward an enriched mutual validation system, which is secure and resistant to all major cryptographic attacks.
