The Use of Medical Network Databases for Observational Comparative Effectiveness Research

摘要

Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) was launched to promote health reform in the US. The Comparative Effectiveness Research could help clinical research and health-care decision making to reduce the health-care cost. This paper summarizes and analyzes the progress of CER by focusing on its technical significance, methods, advantages and disadvantages. A framework using heterogeneous databases for the CER research in China is also proposed.
