Battery manufacturing is of significant importance to meet the growing demands in hybrid/electric vehicles, power generation, telecommunications, grid operation and energy management markets. The rapid advances in battery technology have introduced enormous strain and challenges in battery manufacturing and management systems. This poster will present novel methods in productivity and quality improvement for battery manufacturing systems. First, a quality flow model is introduced to analyze the quality propagation along the manufacturing system with multiple inspections and repair stations, which is capable of capturing the quality dynamics within the system and revealing structural properties in quality distribution and error stack up.
