The reactance-to-reactance transformer (RRT) technique is proposed in this paper for applying in the tuning circuit to miniaturize the tuning stub. These associated RRT formulas are derived based on conjugately characteristic-impedance transmission line (CCITL) equations and the ABCD parameters. The proposed RRT analytical formulas are applied to both short- and open-circuit tuning stubs. Then, the physical length, electrical length and reflection coefficient are observed at the operating frequency of 2.4 GHz. Simulation results prove that the proposed RRTs can be applied to shorten the tuning stub length compared to that of the conventional single stub tuning.
