This The paper considers a method for determining the amount of low-grade heat released during cooling of batch type kilns. The calculation results based on the main laws of heat transfer are compared with the data obtained during the experiment on the operating equipment. Based on which, recommendations on possibility of using this method for calculating excess heat generated by kilns of this type are given. Two energy-saving circuits have been developed to use low-grade heat for the Company's needs of hot water supply and directly in the production cycle. Conclusions about feasibility of using the developed technologies and further research towards optimizing operation of a group of kilns, are made.
