摘要

The evolution of the cellular networks has improved several functionalities used by the customers, the 5G which is their last generation, will allow the connection of several machines, which will result in the improvement of several fields in the Smart City and especially the one of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS). VANET is a promising ITS project whose aim is to provide wireless communication support to the moving vehicles; this network is mainly composed of two infrastructures, one of them is cellular, and the other is road-based; the objective of this paper is to make a comparison between the two infrastructures according to the criteria of capacity, security, coverage, reliability, and latency.
