5G Narrow-Band Band-Pass Filter using Parallel Coupled Lines and L-Shaped resonator

A new compact microstrip L-shaped resonator bandpass filter based on parallel-coupled lines is proposed for 28GHz, with the high performance for the fifth generation 5G. The aim of developing the geometry of the coupled lines is to obtain a narrowband and more compact size. The bandpass filter has been designed by Software CST Microwave, using Rogers4835 substrate having relative permittivity (εr) of 3.66. The electromagnetic simulation results obtained of the compact microstrip L-shaped resonator bandpass filter has been compared with Advanced Design System ADS simulator. The bandpass filter has a bandwidth approximately from 27.5GHz to 29.4GHz, center frequency about 28GHz. Besides, it has high selectivity and a good return loss more than 20dB, with an overall size of 7×4×0.635mm3.
