The method for identification of a nonlinear dynamic gas turbine engine starting process, based on determining the dynamic characteristics and approximating the experimental data by cubic splines, is discussed. The paper highlights the problem of evaluating derivatives in a noisy data and describes the influence of derivative filter parameters on engines characteristics, as well as their dependence on the level of high-frequency noise. The comparison of derivative filter outputs with ideal derivatives demonstrates the high accuracy of engine parameters at unsteady regimes. The developed nonlinear dynamic gas turbine engine model is approved to implement in the software for hardware-in-the-loop test-beds and in the on-board software for automatic control systems of gas turbines.
