An Ultra-Wideband and Low-profile Cavity-backed Antenna Used in Planar Phased Array

摘要

An ultra-wideband cavity-backed antenna is proposed in this paper. Cavity-backed structure and multilayer dielectric plate matching structure have been applied in the design of the proposed antenna. The bandwidth of VSWR<1.6 can be achieved from 6.0GHz to 17.0GHz, and the relative bandwidth has been more than 95.7%. Besides, the profile height (include the connector) of the proposed antenna is less than 9.2mm which is less than 0.18λl (λl is the low frequency wavelength). Furthermore, a planar phased array constructed by the cavity-backed antenna can work in the same frequency band. The active element`s matching and radiation pattern of the array all obtain excellent performance in the measurement.
