Current lead is the main heat source of HTS cable. As a new type of hybrid HTS cable, the heat leakage of current lead in superconducting energy pipeline directly affects the system efficiency. In this paper, the optimum design method of the current lead was briefly introduced. To verify and test the designed current lead, a heat leakage measurement platform was built. The platform is based on the temperature gradient method, which reduces the requirement of sealing and thermal insulation performance of the system. Simulation and test results show that the platform has the advantages of fast and accurate, which can meet the needs of current lead heat leakage measurement.
