Multi-split rectifier transformers can improve the harmonic problems of power system rectification and are widely used. In the design of a multi-split rectifier transformer, in addition to the full crossing short circuit impedance, the short circuit impedance of the high voltage winding to each low voltage winding is required to be approximately equal, which is making the design difficult and complicated. This paper studies the balance optimization of the short circuit impedance of the axial six-split 36-pulse rectifier transformer with the model ZPSC-9000 /35/6xl.85. A new model for calculating the short circuit impedance of multi-split rectifier transformers was proposed in order to simplified design. The accuracy of short circuit impedance balance optimization was verified through experiments.
