摘要

This paper presents a tunable frequency microstrip patch antenna using graphene. The antenna consists of a rectangular patch with a graphene pad connected to the radiating edge, and a metallic via used to connect graphene pad and ground. The imaginary part of the surface impedance of graphene is larger than that of the real part in THz band. So graphene can be regarded as a reactance component loaded into patch antenna. The surface impedance of graphene can be controlled by changing the applied bias voltage, thereby controlling the input impedance of the antenna. Then the tunable frequency of the antenna is realized. A prototype antenna operating at the frequency of 300GHz. The proposed design can achieve linear frequency tunability in the range above the initial operating frequency.
