Field Evaluation of ISE-ammonium Sensors and Their Influencing Factors in WRRFs

摘要

Ion-selective electrodes for ammonium sensors are being deployed in WRRFs, for both process monitoring and control. An increase in accuracy and precision in sensing ammonium, plus an increase in understanding the role of interfering ions, can lead to improved process control and decreased process energy consumption. This paper reports on a comprehensive yearlong field evaluation of such sensors under different operating conditions during daily, weekly, and seasonal variations. Various factors influencing the instrument accuracy such as fouling, interfering ions, and different maintenance operations are presented critically.
