For strong coupling of AC/DC hybrid grid, failure recovery of AC grid will be affected by the dynamic response of DC grid. In this paper, three major DC controller models are studied; main model factors influencing the failure recovery of AC grid are analyzed. A large disturbance is simulated on a regional AC/DC hybrid grid. The result shows that DC controller model and model parameters will have impacts on the fault recovery of AC/DC hybrid grid; new models are closer to the real performances of DC grid, and fault recovery characteristics are better; failure recovery characteristics can be improved by optimizing DC controller parameters.
