Supply Chain Coordination under Sales Rebate Contracts with Price-dependent Demand

This paper studies the sales rebate contract model in two-stage supply chain where a single supplier sells a single product to a single retailer who faces the newsvendor problem. The demand is specified as price-dependent and stochastic. A single sales rebate contract is examed not coordination in this setting. A modified sales rebate contract based on return policy is developed to solve this problem, the method to determine the optimal quantity-price pair is given and the solution of the new model is discussed. Finally, a comparison between the new contract and the wholesale price contract is given to show that the new contract can achieve Pareto Optimal.
