A moving mesh method has been developed for computing the aerodynamics of moving bodies of aeronautical interest. The technique has been implemented in an existing and well validated CFD code for external aerodynamics. The theoretical foundation of a rigidly moving grid method is presented. Several test cases, from laminar to turbulent conditions have been performed for validation and verification purposes. Finally a computation of a three dimensional dynamic stall over a finite wing is discussed. Comparisons with the available experimental data are shown.
