Some design issues on Wanjiazhai Water Control Project

摘要

Wanjiazhai Water Control Project is progressed smoothly ever since its commencement. Within the preconstruction stage of almost two years, all the access roads and communications systems within the construction site and that from/to the outside, the heavy silt-laden Yellow River water treatment system, the artificial aggregate production system, the concrete batching plant and the concrete conveying system with telpher conveyer have been completed. The stage 1 Yellow River closure was succeeded in November 1994 and the stage 2 succeeded in December 1995. At present, the foundation pit excavation is almost completed and the concrete placement for the dam and power house is being in progress. Having entered into a busy construction period, a troop of constructors are working even harder and making every efforts in realizing the grand goal for power generation from the first turbine/generator unit in 1998 and that from all the six units in 2000. The design issues mentioned above are what we have learned in design and construction of Wanjiazhai Water Control Project. Criticisms or corrections (if there should have) will be highly appreciated.
