Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) leaky wave antenna is studied with sinusoidally varying width of the transverse slots. Width of the transverse slots is changed by a modulation factor to obtain the modulated reactive surface. As a result, beam-direction and beamwidth can be independently controlled by phase and attenuation constants respectively of the leaky-wave antenna.
