The 1, 3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between alkyne and azide groups, which always occurs at a low temperature and gives a 1,2,3-triazole ring, attracts more and more attention recently. Our laboratory has been developing a series of low temperature curable polytriazole (PTA) resins with good processability, thermal properties and mechanical properties. In this paper, a new PTA resin was synthesized from 1,4-diazidomethylbenzene(DAMB) and N, N-dipropargyl-p-propargyloxyaniline (DPPA) and characterized. The curing behavior of the PTA resin was investigated by DSC and IR and the results showed that the resin could cure initially at 60 °C, and completely at 200 °C. The Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) and Thermo-gravimetry (TG) analysis showed that the glass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal decomposition temperature Td5 reached 181 and 318 °C, respectively. Flexural strength and modulus of the cured resin at room temperature were 156.4MPa and 3.47GPa.
