In this paper, activated semi-cokes in different area are as precursors of desulphurizer based on activated carbon. A series of H2S removal agents of activated semi-coke are prepared from activated semi-coke by means of HNO3 oxidation and heat treatment at high temperature modification, at the same time commercial activated carbon are infused 4%Cu(NO3)2 solution. The capacity of H2S removal and effect of process operation condition on H2S removal activities for commercial activated carbon and the activated semi-coke are investigated in fixed bed reactor in simulated raw gas. The results indicate that at a reaction temperature of ~70°C, with the space velocity 1100h -1 , the H2S removal efficiency and capacity for modification of the activated semi-cokes can increase the H2S removal efficiency and capacity, maximal capacity can reach 9.06 %.
