The effect of soil recompacting on soil water movement and solutes transportation was investigated through comparing test on one piece of undisturbed soil and one piece of recompacted soil in a farm. Field test results showed a significant decrease of liquid infiltration rate in recompacted soil. Model simulating results showed that the saturated hydraulic conductivity differed by approximately two orders of magnitude and dispersivity differed by approximately one order of magnitude between the undisturbed soil and the recompaced soil. Water retention curve was measured by centrifugal machine and represented by Brooks-Corey equation. Parameter values in equation could be used directly in model simulating of recompacted soil, while enhancing air-entry pressure potential significantly improved the simulating results in undisturbed soil.
