Basketball is one of the world's most popular and widely viewed sports, and it has great influence all over the world. In this paper, we aim to propose an effective basketball match risk assessment method to prevent risks basketball matches. In order to evaluate risk of basketball matches more accurately, objectively, and comprehensively, a reasonable index system should be constructed in advance. We construct an index system for basketball match risk assessment to cover all influence factors in each stage of match holding. Afterwards, considering human judgments are not very accurate, AHP cannot satisfy all our requirements. Hence, we exploit fuzzy theory to promote performance of the AHP algorithm by using fuzzy numbers to replace exact numbers. Finally, experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in basketball match risk assessment.
