摘要

The design of a wideband, over-2-octave bandwidth dual-polarized, unidirectional, log-periodic antenna with integrated impedance transformer balun is presented. The aim is to demonstrate a low-cost configuration for spectrum sensing over wide field-of-view as well as other applications such as communications and direction finding. Therefore, 3d printing was considered and important structural changes within the antenna structure, such as the use of rebars, are made to ensure reliable fabrication while maintaining good electrical performance. An impedance transforming balun is integrated in the booms of the two sets of arms to achieve match to 50 ohms. The antenna is silver painted and unidirectional performance with stable radiation patterns is achieved.
