The energy consumption and fault diagnosis are very important on reducing energy consumption and improving the efficiency of energy utilization of AC (Air Conditioning) systems. Nowadays, for many reasons almost all the existing AC systems are in morbid operation, they all have little or large deviation from the optimal operation pattern. In this paper, a practical diagnostic approach of energy consumption and systematic fault of AC systems has been studied and presented. This approach is based on the comparison between theoretical hourly values and actual hourly values of each testing node, and can be used as a guidance of reasonable design, optimal operation and efficient maintenance of AC systems for improving the synthetic characteristics.
