Since few years gas purging systems are experiencing a comeback as state-of-the-art EAF technology. This renaissance is driven by the continuous efforts for higher productivity and lower production costs of EAF steelmaking. Bottom gas purging systems improve agitation of the steel melt, heat exchange and chemical homogeneity of the melt.
