The Seasonal Abnormal Propagation of VHF/UHF Radio Waves in the West African Sub-Region

I. Introduction Quite often, due to changes in the atmosphere at a particular time of the year, abnormal propagation of radio waves may occur resulting in harmful interference in radio communications. Commonly referred to as ducting, this phenomenon has serious effect on radio frequency planning methodologies with regard to frequency re-use applications.
