Integrity protection schemes are a fast-growing field to restrict the wide-range blackouts. To design an integrity protection scheme, reliability assessment is a highly important step. This chapter proposes Petri nets as a suitable solution for the reliability assessment of integrity protection schemes. A Petri net model is created for an integrated protection scheme applied at Kinmen power system. This Petri net model is then utilized for reliability assessment of Kinmen protection system. Result suggests that this technique can be used for reliability computation of other integrity protection schemes.
