Sustainable Use of Bottomland in Wei River

摘要

Most of main stream of Wei River in Shaanxi province of China is located in the middle and lower reaches of the river, with a great deal of bottomland due to geological processes of river. In the situation that contradiction between human and land aggravate increasingly, the bottomland of Wei River in Shaanxi has been gradually reclaimed, which relieves a shortage of agricultural land at a certain extent, and play an active role in improving life of people who settled in the river sides. However, some problems are worth the whistle in use of bottomland of Wei River, mainly include: bottomland to be very complex in land right, use and utilization, lawlessly digging sands and reclaiming in the bottomland not to be effectively deterred, farmland soil in the bottomland with a poor ability in water storage and fertility conservation, irrigation water during dry season to be shortage for agricultural land in bottomland. According to problems existed in use of bottomland in Wei River, this paper put forward some countermeasures and for sustainable utilization of bottomland based on investigation.
