摘要

Knowledge-intensive work plays an important role in organizations of all types. For ensuring the effective and efficient support of knowledge workers, the first step that is undertaken by this PhD work is to capture knowledge work directly from the knowledge worker's desktop during task and process executions. Discovering, modeling and distinguishing tasks of knowledge workers are as in the focus as revealing task patterns based on user interaction observations, system events and application usage data. By utilizing the identified task patterns process instances are constructed that can serve as a base for process mining approaches. The research challenges, the objectives, the followed methodology and the stage of the current research efforts are described in this paper.
