Highway Performance of Steel Slag Stabilized with Inorganic Binding Materials

Now days the recovering ratio of fly ash and steel slag is very low. Road base material, which made of fly ash and steel slag, can make use of solid waste and educe the consumption of natural stone and soil. It's a kind of ecological building material. The paper investigated the mechanic performance of semi-rigid base material and pointed out that the steel slag has two characters. First, it is unstable. It will become power and expand itself once it meet water. Moreover, lab tests and studies were conducted, such as unconfirmed compressive strength, compressive modulus of resilience, cleavage strength and anti-frost performance experiments of different ratios of inorganic bindings and steel slag in the mixture. At last, regular pattern of steel slag being discussed in detail for the better used of steel slag as base or sub grade of road .once these waste steel slag could be made good use, it will do good for human society. The experiment results can reference to the using of waste steel slag.
