The chemical composition of cotton linter was analyzed. Then a preliminary study of incorporative pulping of cotton linter with peracetic acid including cooking and bleaching was carried out through an orthogonal test and single-factor tests. During the pulping removal of fluorescence substance in cotton linter pulping was investigated. The effect of pretreatment of cotton linter and the addition of chemical additives in pulping liquor on pulping were studied. The results show that the optimum parameters are as follows: cooking temperature 70°C, initial pH 8, peracetic acid dosage 3%, cooking time 60min. In these conditions, pulp with high yield of 91% and high brightness of 87.76%ISO is attained and more than 90 percent of fluorescence substance in cotton linter pulp is removed.
