A ternary damping composite, made of rubber, glass fiber and lead, was designed and prepared. It is called glass-fiber cored lead-wire (GF/Pb-wire) reinforced rubber composite (GF/Pb/R). The mechanical property and the damping property of GF/Pb/R with varied interface were tested under -30°C~50°C, 5Hz and 27°C, 1~50Hz. Results show that the mechanical property of GF/Pb/R is better than that of rubber and it increases with the interface bond strength. However, the damping property of the composite with weak interface bond strength is higher than those with strong and medium interface bond strength. It also tells that the temperature stability of GF/Pb/R is higher than that of rubber.
