Our recent works on (ⅰ) improving the energy product of 2:17 Sm-Co magnets via Pr substitution for Sm, (ⅱ) better understanding on magnetic hardening in the 2:17 magnets by means of the Moeessbauer and model alloy studies and (ⅲ) developing fully dense Sm-Co-Fe nanocomposite magnets with Cu and Ga additions are reviewed.
