摘要

Recent work on design modeling and optimization of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) for applications in advanced fiber-optic communication systems is reviewed. A powerful design methodology based on the combination of a rigorous vector finite difference (FD) mode solver and a scaling transformation is presented and demonstrated. Several applications of the design procedure, e.g., the design optimization for the dispersio n-related fibers, are discussed.
