Light stimulations received by the ocular organ lead to a series of responses that are processed first by our visual physiological signals. The light emitted diode (LED), to the vision scientists and engineers, is unique both as a reliable light source and a versatile visual stimulant. We offer to apply a programmable microcontroller system to an LED array that could function as a visual biofeedback equipment (VBE) or a light source for measurement of pattern focal elcctroretinography (ERG) and visual evoked potential (YEP). A PC-based assembly connecting with RS-232 to AVR and operating on an ALTERA-domain FPGA peripheral, and further coupling to RST/CLK that with instruction stream expandable to an SRAM was tested positively with features such as blinking and flicking of the LED following a preprogrammed pattern requirement.
