Agricultural Land Application of Pulp and Paper Mill Sludges in The Donnacona Area; Quebec: Chemical Evaluation And Crop Response

Primary paper mill sludges from a thermomechanical pulp (TMP) mill were land applied at the rate of 20 metric ton per hectare(t/ha) for agricultural purposes in the Donnacona area, Quebec, in May 1994 and May 1995. Eleven agricultural sites featuring various crops were tested over two seasons to measure the impact of TMP primary paper mill sludges o soil, plant tissue and crop yield. Cereal and potato crops showed a significant increases in yield.
